Group Zoom FAQ

A Group Zoom call with Dr Lekich is the first step in your Lipoedema journey with us.  The Group Zoom information session is your opportunity to meet Dr Lekich and hear an overview of Lipoedema, the way it is diagnosed and treated, common comorbidities, how to implement conservative management techniques, our surgical protocol, as well as what you can do now to get started before you see the Doctor for a consultation.

The Group Zoom call typically lasts for 60 to 90 minutes and patients are welcome to hide their name and leave their camera turned off if they do not wish to be identified.

Lipoedema is a greatly misunderstood condition, and as a result a great deal of misinformation exists in circulation.

The group zoom call is a streamlined method to educate regarding what Lipoedema is, how it can be treated, and our surgical protocol, without new patients waiting potentially weeks or months for a one-on-one consultation with one of our doctors.

This format also ensures the time you spend with the doctor is focused very specifically on your unique presentation of lipoedema and questions about you, rather than the foundational information that is delivered in the Group Zoom Call that is relevant for everyone.

You can book the group zoom online or by calling 1800 367 534.

The group zoom call costs $60 and the one-on-one telehealth call with a doctor is $185.  There are no rebates available for these two appointments.

You don’t need a referral to book a consultation, however, we recommend getting a referral from your GP if you can, so that Dr Lekich can communicate with your doctor to access your medical history.  We also use this as an important opportunity to provide information and education to GPs about Lipoedema.

If you booked online, you will have received a confirmation email with the date and time you selected, please ensure you check your junk/spam folder.

If you booked via phone call and you didn’t make a copy of your details during the call, please email help@walkwithfreedom.com.au or call 1800 367 534.

You will receive a zoom link one day prior to your appointment via text message as well as via the email address you nominated while booking. Please ensure you check your junk.

If you booked online then you would have received a receipt via the email address you nominated while booking, please ensure you also check your junk/spam folder.  The sender is likely to be receipts@walkwithfreedom.com.au or you can search for ‘Coastal Medical Services’

If you booked by calling us please look for a receipt from help@walkwithfreedom.com.au or call our team to have it resent.

You can reschedule any time by emailing help@walkwithfreedom.com.au or by calling 1800 367 534.

If you booked online and received a calendar meeting invite, you can reschedule by clicking the reschedule link at the bottom of the calendar meeting.

Our patient portal provides you a secure and easy online platform to submit your personal and medical details prior to your scheduled appointment. It’s a simple and quick way to streamline your pre-admission experience with us. Your personal information is validated and then imported directly into your Lipoedema Surgical Solution file.

NOTE – for security of your medical information, no data can be saved while completing the patient portal. You must complete it all in one go, this will take approximately 30 minutes.

Alternatively you can complete a medical questionnaire PDF before returning it to us with 4x photos of your legs/arms to help@walkwithfreedom.com.au

This may occur by creating multiple accounts with the same email address, or by exceeding the 24 hour window until the link expires.

Instead of the portal, please complete a medical questionnaire PDF before returning it to us with 4x photos of your legs/arms to help@walkwithfreedom.com.au

For security of your medical information, no data can be saved while completing the patient portal. You must complete it all in one go, this will take approximately 30 minutes. Sometimes the patient portal information will not upload, usually during the photo upload step.  If this happens, we recommend trying another browser (such as Google Chrome, which is fairly reliable) or even changing devices (try using a desktop computer instead of your mobile phone or ipad).

Dr Lekich will see international patients, there are no additional barriers or wait times for international patients, nor are there any extra fees. For the group zoom please check your time zone, noting the date could be 1 day earlier for you – Check your local timezone here

Yes, it is important for all patients who are new to our protocol to participate in the Group Zoom Call.  This ensures that all patients have received the same information from the same source, and to avoid confusion or misinformation you may have received prior to starting your journey with us.  Our protocol for treatment is very specific and designed by Dr Lekich to optimise outcomes, so it is important to ensure your conservative management practices match with our protocol if you are considering surgery with us.

This format also ensures that when you see our doctors for your one-on-one appointments, all of the important and general information has already been covered, so your appointment can focus specifically on you and your presentation of lipoedema.
