Joanne is a retired teacher from Canberra who has struggled with Lipoedema since puberty, with pain and tenderness in her legs. It has since worsened during menopause causing rapid deterioration of mobility, impacting her quality of life.
Joanne recently underwent lipoextraction surgery with Dr Lekich, with 3.2L of diseased fat being removed from her lower legs, which could not be dieted or exercised away.
Joanne also had her varicose veins treated with Dr Lekich prior to surgery to reduce swelling and the risk of bleeding and clotting.
We would like to thank Joanne for her bravery and for allowing us to share her story, in order to help raise awareness about this condition.
